Quirky Circus Themed Hotel – 25hours Vienna

Europe

After staying in the 25hours hotel in Berlin and loving it there, I knew I had to go and stay in their other range of hotels in Europe. So when my boyfriend booked us a trip to a Vienna, I immediately booked us into the 25hours hotel there. Each 25hours hotel has it’s own quirky theme and style and the one in Vienna has a circus theme.

Upon arrival we were met with quirky signs and a fun circus themed decor around the hotel.

• The hotel is dog friendly

Rooms at 25hours

When we entered our room we were so impressed with the funky design and by how much space we had! We had a desk in the corner with a Bluetooth speakers, a large T.V in front of the bed, quirky pillows with slogans saying “let’s spend the night together” and “almost home” and an elephant cuddly toy.

We even had our own terrace with a table, which we would have used a lot more if the weather had been better, it would be ideal for drinks in the summer.

The bathroom area was also pretty great and the shower was a decent pressure. Just to note that the curtain doesn’t go all the way around the shower, which could be an issue if you wanted your own privacy.

The toiletries are really good, they have big bottles of shampoo, soap and shower gel by the brand Stop The Water While Using Me, which are made with natural products and smell amazing. You also have a chance to buy these products and some other bits and pieces in the hotel kiosk on the ground floor.

Buffet breakfast

Breakfast is served in the 1500 Foodmakers restaurant on the ground floor. Offering a wide range of products such as yoghurts, fruits, breads, croissants, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. To drink they have a range of loose leaf teas, juices and coffees. The huge range of food means you won’t be hungry for the rest of the day.

Breakfast is served until 11.30 on the weekends, 10.30 during the week and costs around £18pp and if you book it directly with your room you can save money on this.

Dachboden rooftop bar and terrace

On the 8th floor of the hotel is the Dachboden bar. It’s a great place to relax with a vast range of cocktails or beers, we really enjoyed having a drink in the evening before dinner. They also have a terrace with a great view overlooking Vienna’s beautiful architecture.

Overall thoughts

We had a fab time staying here, it’s one of the quirkiest hotels we’ve stayed at. I love the detail that goes into this hotel from the circus show murals and hula hoop in the rooms to the prison bars in the lifts. Throughout our stay the staff were really friendly and helped with recommendations on where to eat. I definitely want to try out more of the 25 hour hotels, they have hotels in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Zurich. Each hotel has a different theme and cuddly toy to represent it, Berlin was a zoo theme with a monkey toy and Vienna was circus themed with the elephant. I love how although they are part of the same chain, each hotel has its own identity and personality.

How much does it cost?

Room rates start at €100 per room depending on the day and season. Buffet breakfast is €19 per person but if you book directly with the room you save €5 so I’d definitely recommend you do that. The hotel also has parking just check when you book if there’s space available. You can event bring your dog with you, you’ll just need to pay the €15 cleaning fee.

How to get there?

The hotel is located in a great area, near museums quarter. It was a 10 minute walk from the natural history museum where we got our hop on hop off bus tour from. It’s also close to some cafes and restaurants.

It’s a short walk from subway stop Volkstheatre on the U2 line.

If you are arriving by car the hotel has underground parking.
