What to do in Brussels

Visit Grand Place

This is the central square of Brussels with beautiful gold buildings. In August there is a massive flower carpet so I will definitely have to visit again to see this.

Comic Strip Walk

There are many comic murals around Brussels, some featuring the Belgian cartoon Tin Tin.

Mannequin Pis

One of the most famous statues in Brussels and also one of the most overrated attractions. The statue is very small, but it is close to the Grand Place and lots of waffle stores.

Mont des Arts viewpoint

I visited this point on a walking tour its worth a visit for the beautiful garden and view of Brussels.

Food & Drink in Belgium

Waffles

The waffles in Belgium are amazing! So many toppings to choose from although they are pretty messy to eat. I went on a walking tour and the tour guide said locals only get waffles with sugar no other toppings, unless in a restaurant where you can sit down with a knife and fork so it’s less messy. If you go to Belgium you have to try the waffles.

Fries

The fries taste so good they are double fried so are very crispy and cooked in beef fat for extra flavour. My favourite place for fries was cafe Georgette which was recommended by a tour guide (address:  Rue de la Fourche 37, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium) Good portion of fries I got them with the Georgette sauce which is mayo mixed with ketchup.

Beer

Belgium has some great beers, head to delirium bar which has 3000 beers to choose from!

Accomodation – Brussels 2GO4 Quality Hostel City Centre

Loved the decor in this hostel it is very quirky in the common room. However wasn’t great for solo travellers as was a pretty quiet hostel. I was only here for one night good place if travelling with someone or want a peaceful trip. Good location right near the shops and about 15 minutes from the centre.
